site DOCUMENTation

the site I have chosen is Filene's Basement at
Downtown Crossing.  it is a major artery of travel
in the area and connects the theatre district to
government center/faneuil hall and individuals
pass through the area if traveling from the Boston
Commons to the Rose Kennedy Greenway, thus
creating a large amount of pedestrian traffic.  in
addition, there are several stores located on
Washington Street that add to the attraction
of people.  the site will allow for many people
to see the manipulations that will occur in the
housing that I propose to build and because of
the constant changing of people traveling through
the area it makes for a perfect fit for my thesis.

this is an aerial view of the site, with washington street,
franklin street, and my thesis site highlighted
