a simple study to relay the idea of rhythm and 300 post-it notes later.....
this was my first exploration of infinite space....I tried to relay the idea by representing a broad spectrum of how you can manipulate the designs with a few thicknesses of tape and a single color of spray paint
my second attempt at infinite space was successful after discussing the with my peers how to improve the collage.....the monochromatic scheme was decided upon as myself and others thought of white as representing infinite space, and others saw black as being infinite. in turn, I tried to create this play of movement on the canvases using these two colors and using basswood to direct the viewer's attention into and away from the piece
another study was the expression of movement. after doing research I wanted to display the movement of the mind from one position to another. I began to reflect on times when I would [and still do] be contemplating a certain word or memory, and it would translate into me searching through many memories, each of them sparking a new thought.....it would be a constant back and forth within my mind, thus leading me to create this piece.
